Bản tin của Ðảng DCND về phiên tòa phúc thẩm xét xử Bs. Lê Nguyên Sang

Việt Nam - Ngày 14 tháng 7 năm 2007 - Phiên toà phúc thẩm xử Bác sĩ Lê Nguyên Sang, thành viên đảng Dân chủ Nhân dân đã được toà án chính thức thông tin sẽ đem ra xử ngày 27 tháng 7 năm 2007 tại Toà Án Sài Gòn, Việt Nam.

Trong phiên toà ngày 10 tháng 5 năm 2007 xử đảng viên đảng Dân chủ Nhân dân gồm bác sĩ Lê Nguyên Sang, luật sư Nguyễn Bắc Truyễn và ký giả Huỳnh Nguyên Đạo vừa qua. Bác Sĩ Sang đã bị tuyên án 5 năm tù và 2 năm quản chế tại gia về tội danh "tuyên truyền chống nhà nước Việt Nam". Bản án này đã bị các tổ chức nhân quyền và nhiều quốc gia trên thế giới mạnh mẽ lên án.

Mới đây, Quốc hội Châu Âu đã lên án phiên toà xử bác sĩ Sang và nhiều nhà bất đồng chính kiến tại Việt Nam qua quyết nghị ngày 12 tháng 7 năm 2007. Quyết nghị kêu gọi Việt Nam tôn trọng quyền con người và " trả tự do tức khắc và vô điều kiện cho mọi cá nhân bị giam giữ vì lý do duy nhất là họ sử dụng ôn hòa và chính đáng các quyền tự do tư tưởng, tự do ngôn luận, tự do báo chí và tự do tôn giáo, trong số này có linh mục Nguyễn Văn Lý, Nguyễn Phong, Nguyễn Bình Thành, các luật sư Nguyễn Văn Đài và Lê Thị Công Nhân, Trần Quốc Hiền, Lê Nguyên Sang, Nguyễn Bắc Truyển, Huỳnh Nguyên Đạo, Dương Thị Tròn, Lê Văn Sóc, Nguyễn Văn Thủy, Nguyễn Văn Thọ, Đức Tăng thống Thích Huyền Quang, Hòa thượng Thích Quảng Độ và Bùi Thị Kim Thành".

Quyết nghị cũng kêu gọi Hà Nội có những "cải cách chính trị, thiết lập nhà nước pháp quyền, chấp nhận đa đảng, tự do báo chí và các công đoàn, tổ chức Công, Nông dân độc lập" để giải quyết những mâu thuẩn xung đột trong xã hội mà cụ thể nhất là cuộc biểu tình của hàng trăm nông dân tại Sài Gòn và Hà Nội tố cáo tệ nạn đảng viên tham nhũng, cướp đất của dân chúng đã kéo dài từ ngày 22 tháng 6, 2007 đến nay.

Dr. Le Nguyen Sang’s Appeal Trial

Viet Nam - July 14, 2007 - Dr. Le Nguyen Sang’s appeal trial is scheduled for July 27, 2007 in People's Court, Sai Gon, Viet Nam.

His May 10th trial earlier this year, together with other members of the People's Democratic Party, lawyer Nguyen Bac Truyen and journalist Huynh Nguyen Dao. Dr. Le Nguyen Sang, handed down a sentencing of 5 years imprisonment with 2 years of house arrest for the alleged crime of "propagating against Viet Nam". The sentence has been condemned strongly by human rights organizations and foreign governments all over the world.

Recently, the European Parliament, adopted a "Resolution on Vietnam", condemning repression against Vietnamese dissidents and called on the Vietnamese government to respect and guarantee the fundamental rights of the Vietnamese people: “Calls, therefore, for the immediate and unconditional release of all individuals imprisoned for the sole reason that they have peacefully and legitimately exercised their right to freedom of opinion, freedom of expression, freedom of the press and freedom of religion, including the Catholic priest Nguyen Van Ly (sentenced to eight years’ imprisonment), Nguyen Phong (six years), Nguyen Binh Thanh (five years), the lawyers Nguyen Van Dai (five years) (all members of the pro-democracy and reform group Bloc 8406) and Le Thi Cong Nhan (four years), spokeswoman for the Progression Party, Tran Quoc Hien (five years), representative of the Workers-Farmers Organisation, the leader of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Le Nguyen Sang (five years), Nguyen Bac Truyen (four years) and Huynh Nguyen Dao (three years), and the Buddhists Hoa Hao Duong Thi Tron (six years), Le Van Soc (six years) and Nguyen Van Thuy (five years), Nguyen Van Tho (four years), the Patriarch of the UBCV, Thich Huyen Quang, Thich Quang Do and Bui Thi Kim Tanh”.

The resolution also calls on Vietnam "to carry out political and institutional reforms in order to establish democracy and the genuine rule of law, beginning with the introduction of a multi-party system, a free press and free trade unions ," in order to solve social issues where conflict, arbitrary law and government corruption have caused hundreds of farmers to stage on-going protests in Sai Gon and Ha Noi starting June 22, 2007.
